Event details

An impressive 24 species of whales are known from the sea around Denmark or Hav-Danmark.
Some of them, such as the harbor porpoise and the white-beaked dolphin, are permanent fauna elements and then there are the other “visiting species” that can both thrive in certain Danish waters, but also those that go astray.
In the inland waters, the two belts and the Øresund create a connection between the inner Baltic Sea and the vast world ocean.
In this lecture, Carl Kinze will focus on the Øresund, where at least 14 species have been documented

The lecture starts at 19:00.

A glass of wine is served with the lecture.

Program:
17:00: Aquarium opens
18:00: Feeding followed by a “behind the scenes” tour
19:00: Lecture
20:30: Aquarium closes

Carl Kinze received his PhD from the University of Copenhagen in 1990 and currently works at the Danish Whale Atlas c/o the Natural History Museum of Denmark.
Carl’s primary field of work is the exploration of the cetacean fauna of offshore Denmark using stranded whale surveys, historical sources and citizen cetology.
